Harwich is next door to Chatham and is made up of seven villages: Harwich Center, Harwich Port, East, West, North and South Harwich, and Pleasant Lake. Its south shore is lined with beaches on Nantucket Sound, and inland there are several freshwater ponds.
Saquatucket Harbor in Harwich Port is the closest ferry point to the house for a day trip to Nantucket in season. Harwich also has six public boat ramps, and plenty of historic sites, shops and restaurants.
Harwich is very busy in summer, so book dinners and boat trips ahead.
